Excavation (E-Permit) Structural Review

This Structural Review Portal manages and coordinates various types of work performed by the Development Services Structural Review Group within the Central District Office of the Bureau of Engineering. The portal provides oversight and administrative support for structural review and permit processing activities associated with projects in City of Los Angeles.

Scope of Work

The scope of work managed through this portal includes the following categories:

• Shoring Review – Structural review for the removal of lateral support affecting the public right-of-way, as well as processing E-permits for projects located within the Central District. For projects located outside the Central District, the group performs only the shoring structural review, while permit processing is handled by the respective district office.
• Processing of Other E-Permits – Processing E-permits related to activities such as soil boring, potholing, monitoring wells, and streetlight relocation for projects located within the Central District.
• Sewer Lateral Structural Review – Structural review of sewer lateral installations.
• U-Permit Structural Review – Structural review for all U-permits, including permits issued by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) and Above Ground Facilities (AGF).
• Private Construction Near City Easements – Structural review of private construction activities located near City easements.
• B-Permit Structural Review – Structural review of projects submitted under B-permits.
• R-Permit Structural Review – Structural review of projects submitted under R-permits.
• E-Permit Work Order Close-Out – Processing the close-out of E-permit work orders for bond release for projects located within the Central District.
• Administrative Review of Notices of Non-Compliance (NNC) – Administrative review of Notices of Non-Compliance issued by the Bureau of Contract Administration (BCA).
