- PRIOR TO STARTING CONSTRUCTION, IT IS THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO LOCATE ALL EXISTING UTILITIES AND CONDUITS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OR NOT THEY ARE SHOWN ON THE PLANS, AND TO TAKE APPROPRIATE MEASURES TO PROTECT THEM FROM ANY POTENTIAL DAMAGE.
TRAFFIC CONTROL CONDITIONS
- WATCH MANUAL: TRAFFIC CONTROL SETUP SHALL BE PER THE WATCH MANUAL CONDITIONS (2019 EDITION) AND MANUAL OF UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES (MUTCD 2009).
- STREET ACCESS: MAINTAIN LOCAL AND EMERGENCY ACCESS ON ALL STREETS.
- MAINTAIN ACCESS TO ALL DRIVEWAYS, SIDEWALKS, AND CROSSWALKS AT ALL TIMES.
SPECIAL PERMIT REQUIREMENTS:
Concrete Pavement Repair - Streets:
1. Sawcut to the nearest joint/edge within 3 feet of the trench per Greenbook 2009, Section 300 1.3.2. (b). Generally, this means full concrete panel removal.
2. Install 30" dowel bars at 30" on center (typical). See Standard Plan S430-1.
3. Use of epoxy adhesive (Hilti HY 150 equivalent).
4. Placement of 4,000 psi compressive strength concrete (660C4000 equivalent) per Broowbook 2011 specifications for High Early Strength Concrete.
5. New pavement thickness to be 1" greater in thickness than existing condition per Greenbook 2009, Section 3061.5.2.
6. Additional concrete pavement requirements per Greenbook 2009 and Brownbook 2011, Section 302.6.
